Harpo29, Mike,
The spring thing is actually a nice and quaint event. A good way to break the ice and make a few new friends. Perhaps attendance will surpass the last years event. It is a beautiful area and John has a swell pub/ country club. It also has a designated area for the Bushman products. Overall the facility is  a cozy atmosphere where friends gather and warmly welcomed. I do hope that you are able to bring your instruments to the spring thing as well as the Blues festival. You'll surely be the hit of the party!

Ken, I'll have you know that I expect to see your new banjo. It's time to break it in at the festival. It'll be great for you to be around another  banjo player too. I listened to a recording "practice" that our band did in 2006. Wow, I sounded horrific!  I don't feel nearly so bad as I did then. Practice, practice, practice...and a little advice, grit and determination....Smile

Great Mike! Looking forward to it all the more.

Ken, That's great! Practice, practice, practice..    You did say you rented a golf cart at the Bean? That'll help with the carrying while there. Not much need to carry around at the spring thing.

We can do whatever we want. Blues tends to be the most consistently played.

Of course I love the bluegrass, but can't lead it. I follow whatever and enjoy it all.

Mike... it is easy to figure what a particular campsite is into jammin on

just walk past casual like, and if you see beer cans and bowling shirts  , that is those low life bluesmen

if you see  cowboy hats and tumblers  of dark brown liquids,,, ...that would be the  Country gentleman 'grassers

I say  tumblers because no glass bottles are allowed....

if you see an orange shirt.. that would be Msarges camp.... and the music will be stuff no  other living man knows anymore

Sarge sleeps with  his boots on , aready to run, cause somebody tryin to commit him to an institution-----the Smithsonian Instituteshun with the other dinosaurs

If you see horns... that would be the high class acts... Motown & jazzbos

No, I sleep with my boots on because if that old indian woman I live with gets riled I gotta go fast. Especially if she happens to find a knife that I forgot to break the point off of.
