Walter,
I figured if you went anywhere, it would be to Texas. Just as warm down there and cheaper taxes. |

we love austin but it is just about as expensive as California and the humidity is hard to deal with 6 months of the year. That is what ran us off. Once the music scene died there, it seemed like the humidity got worse. You can't describe Texas heat/humidity to folks that haven't been there. California has low humidity. I love that cool air too that comes in with the ocean fog everyday in th summer. You get up to about 80-85 in the day and down to 50 at night. No a/c needed. Just open the windows. People have screwed up California. Left unto itself, the north coast is a place that is hard to beat. Property taxes are higher here in Ohio, but the overall cost of living/real estate is a lot cheaper. We will downsize big time. You don't need much space because you are outside alot. Walter

coincidinkly, former member Joel Powerharp just sent me an email ranting about the same thing.. a native Californian,, (LA) he says the only thing wrong with California is that the people have developed such a sybaritic lifestyle... and sense of entitlement
He said it did not use to be that way when he was younger. |

I find an ironic humor in the ubiquitous highway signs which state: SLOW Men Working |
